IJEN CRATER TOUR
Ijen Crater is the
biggest crater in Java. Ijen Crater Area Tourism Park
or Nature Reserve is located in the
District of Ijen slippery,
and the District Klobang
Banyuwangi, Bondowoso. Around 04.00 am, we
pick you at the
hotel. Due to erratic
weather, it is better to always carry
a raincoat when climbing.
Our journey will
take about 2 hours
to drive a jeep
(4x4 WD).
Because the road is very broke.
So land-rover or jeep which has four wheel driving is the best vehicle to use
across this condition.
Along the way, we will pass some of the plantations, among others: coffee, cloves, pine
and rubber. And occasionally
wild animals will
appear in front of you, such as:
monkeys, deer, butterflies, birds, and others. After a few minutes drive, we
arrived at the parking
area Paltuding. Here we will start climbing as
far as 3 km. In Bromo mount there
is a horse that we can lease rent if we are tired of walking.
But here, just by walk we reached the top
of Ijen mount. While we climb, we will find
an amazing moment. It is sulfur miners. They take sulfur
from the bottom of the crater. Here the smoke is thick,
but with equipment
such as gloves masks
to the degree necessary, they are
still looking for the molten sulfur. Molten
sulfur derived from
the piping leading to the source of the volcanic gases that contain sulfur.
The burden is quite heavy between 80 to 100
kg. The miners are
used to carry heavy load,
they walked along the path on the caldera cliffs down
the mountain.
After a few minutes, we arrived
at the peak of Ijen
mount. Here, you can see beautiful and
amazing scenery. Crater lake of
bluish green with
sulfur smoke haze
and a very charming.
This crater has a very high
level of acidity is
close to zero so that the human
body can dissolve quickly. In addition, cold air will add to the sensation.
A variety of plants that exist only in the highlands can also be found, such as Edelweiss Flower and
Pine Mountain. We
can also enjoy the beautiful

After you are satisfied
to take pictures and enjoy the scenery, we
come back down to Paltuding (parking area). It’s about
at 12.00 am, we go back to the hotel.
